Hammer
Drill/Screw gun
Utility knife
Materials Needed:
6 feet of
1½” flexible hose
8 Stainless steel bolts
Chalk
Silicone Caulk
Hose clamps or zip ties, 2 per water outlet
1 or 2 pieces of 2x4 TREX or Resin composite board
Instructions:
Ø
Locate return valve inside your pool area.
Ø
Connect a 1½” flexible hose from the return valve
to the waterfall outlet.
Ø
It is most important to use hose clamps or zip
ties where hose connects to return valve as well as the
waterfall connection.
Ø
Place waterfall and cliff rocks around the pool in
the desired position of installation. Step back and take a look
to make sure you are happy with the waterfall location.
Ø
Scribe with a pencil or chalk the outer edges of
all the pieces to be installed
Ø
To ensure a tight fit on your pool make sure you
scribe the shape of the coping edge onto the pieces also.
Ø
Cut off excess rock with a sharp utility knife.
Do this gradually to ensure a professional finish
Ø
Pre-run your water feature to assure that the
water is running down the feature properly. You may need to
trim the edges of the piece to insure a perfect fit. A small
amount of water will not let you gauge flow correctly.
Ø
Using suitable sized blocks of “TREX” or resin
composite wood, lift rock and position blocks under and against
internal rocks edges.
Ø
After determining block position remove rock and
outline in preparation for fastening.
Ø
Pre-drill holes into TREX blocks and pool decking
for mounting of blocks. 2-4 blocks per item may be required.
Ø
Using stainless steel bolts, hammer through block
into decking securing a
structural installation.
Ø
Place rocks back over blocks and mark on pool
decking to guide where to drill screws into place.
Ø
Screw through rock into block. Stainless steel
screws are advised to prevent rusting.
Ø
Camouflaging of the screw heads can be achieved by
putting wet silicone adhesive onto screw head and sprinkling
authentic crushed rock onto silicone.
Helpful Hints:
Ø
We suggest the best time to install a water
feature onto your pool is when coping and decking has been
completed in the construction of a new pool.
Ø
We recommend that you place a real rock over the
water outlet to help disperse the water flow evenly.
Ø
DO NOT RUN the water feature when you are shocking
your pool. If your chlorine levels are not correct you can
bleach the waterfall. Remember that these water features of
made of REAL ROCK, and real rock will change color. Simply
lower the water level below the rock edge and turn off the valve
that leads to the water feature. After levels have returned to
normal you may run your water feature again.
Ø
We DO NOT recommend walking, jumping or climbing
on your water feature due to safety concerns.
Ø
Please watch children carefully around a body of
water.
